WoSign completed equity investment to StartCom CA

In accordance with WoSign and StartCom remediation plan, StartCom was completed the transfer of 100% shares from WoSign to Qihoo 360 in November 29, 2016, StartCom officially became a wholly owned subsidiary of Qihoo 360.
WoSign today announced the completion of 100% equity investment into StartCom, a leading global trusted CA in Israel.
The two parties signed a Share Purchase Agreement at August 30th 2015, the two parties actively cooperate to fulfill their obligations according to the agreement, on September 19th 2016 to complete the first equity investment phase, and according to the agreement the two parties announced this news today.
WoSign and StartCom has been a close working relationship since 2010, not only StartCom root certificates cross signed WoSign roots certificates, but also StartCom provide professional consulting services for WoSign successfully passed the WebTrust audit and included WoSign root certificate into a variety of browsers and operating systems. The two parties have been sharing some infrastructure, technology development and related technical services resources to provide the best quality service for both customers.
After years of development, WoSign has become the No.1 market share of SSL certificate in China as a global trusted CA, and StartCom has become the world's No. 6 largest CA, subscribers covers more than 200 countries worldwide, both parties agree to cooperate more closely, to play the advantages of both, to provide better products and better service for Chinese users and worldwide users.
WoSign is investing in StartCom in order to help it expand in the global market, the original system and the management team of StartCom remains unchanged, WoSign and StartCom two companies operate and managed independently, and maintain long-term development of independent brands.
StartCom has set up branch offices in the UK and in Spain after obtaining WoSign investment, provide better localization services for European customers and worldwide customers. Meanwhile, StartCom has set up R&D center in China for research and development in addition to StartSSL products of other related products and services, and will launch other PKI-related products and services for worldwide users.
